After Peace Corps service in 2016, Carissa began studying as an herbalist. She quickly learned that herbal formulas work best when people enjoy them—then the follow-through comes naturally! Meanwhile, Adam worked in the local food system, connecting farms to schools. The same theme emerged: students who enjoyed produce from their classroom gardens were more likely to choose fresh foods in the cafeteria.
